We are now in the Ghetto
Well….
IT was THE hardest move I had every done. I have never lived up on the 4th floor, and with no elevator. A big thank you to our friends Jeremy and Lina and Henri for all the sweat. I have posted a photo of our new hood. We are very happy, and it’s strange, but we almost feel like we are living in the McGill campus. There are a lot of students living in this area, but we are on the edge of downtown. It’s a lot quieter than we thought, but there have been the odd party. I think we just need to start dressing like the students, and maybe we will be invited. Julie and I went for a walk up the mountain yesterday. It was a beautifull day and the leaves are almost all changed. We are finding ourselves getting used to this city more. There is soo much for us to discover and it will take time. I have starting playing more poker lately, and I am on a mission to turn my initial investment of $50 into $10,000. My bankroll is building slowely, but it’s moving in the right direction. The snow is coming soon, that scares me a bit. I had to take a break from my French lessons, but I am back in them now. I am starting to understand more, but still have a long way to go. Julie got me to read “The Book of Negros” and it’s really good.
Hope y’all are doing great out there in lala land.
